Exhibits Layout of 2007 Shanghai Toy Expo Determined
  According to 2007 exhibits layout, there will mainly be wooden toy, plush toy, playground equipment, children carrier, international pavilion and Hong Kong pavilion in hall E1. In hall E2, there will display electronic and plastic toy, model and accessories. Furthermore, the “licensing pavilion” as a new category will be arranged this year. From the new layout, visitor could rapidly find their interested categories and exhibitor will feel more efficient to promote their products.

More upgraded Service will be provided
 

This year, the Shanghai Toy Expo website and E-newsletter will be the main platform for visitors to know the exhibition information. Via the website, visitors could easily finish pre-registration, search the exhibitors’ information, find the latest relevant information. E-newsletter will deliver the certain information to the users who demanded. In addition, the organizer will print badges for pre-registered visitors.

Meanwhile, the organizer will arrange the display region according to different categories and more pointers will also be established. On the key intersection, the staff will provide guide service to the visitors. At the fair site, visitors can apply for a translator to accompany and enjoy free Internet services. In addition, China Toy Association also provides value-added services such as company directory searching, matchmaking, enterprise recommendation, Factory tour and others.

Large Amusement Equipment Enterprises would like to Attend Shanghai Toy Expo
 

In 2007, Shanghai Toy Expo is expected to expand its category once again --- amusement equipment and accessories enterprises are plan to join the exhibition to provide more products for professional buyers.

China Toy Association participated China Attractions Expo 2007 on 2nd-4th this month. At the exhibition site, many Amusement Equipment exhibitors came to the booth to enquire some details of STE and several large enterprises have expressed their interest in participating Shanghai Toy Expo.

The updated version Shanghai Toy Expo website is Ready
 

The updated website of Shanghai Toy Expo (www.shanghaitoyexpo.com.cn) is officially put into use in the first week of March. The redesigned website emphasizes its function on two parts: exhibitors’ service and visitors’ service. The frequently used contents are placed at obvious locations and the navigation is clearer than before. The new website could provide users a faster and more effective experience.

The front page highlights online service. The online registration system is easy to handle and could help visitors save much time at the fair site. By visiting exhibitors service center and using exhibitor registration system, it is convenient for exhibitor order booth, promote products, and submit certain relevant information. In addition, the website also added new services such as e-newsletter subscription, download area, hotel reservation, industry news, etc.

Chinese Toy will be displayed at Moscow Toy Fair
  13th MITGE-Toy & Game, Mother & Baby will be held on March 19 –22 at MANEZH and Gostiny Dvor Expo Center in Moscow. As the fair sole organizer in China, China Toy Association organized Chinese toy enterprises from Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang to join the fair. The exhibits will focus on plush and stuffed toys, plastic toys, wooden toys and children carriers.

Toy Industry Between Brazil and China Held the Second Round of Negotiation
 

1~2 March, Mr. Synesio Batista Da Costa, Chairman of Brazilian Association of Toy Manufacturers, Wang Hanjiang, President of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Light Industrial Products and Arts-Crafts, and May Liang, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of China Toy Association, held a meeting in Beijing and started the second round of negotiation.

China Unifies Income Tax of Domestic and Foreign Enterprises
 
The Fifth Session of the Tenth National Committee of CPPCC will consider the draft of Enterprises Income Tax Law, which aims at unifying the income tax of different types of enterprises. According to the draft, domestic and foreign enterprises will adopt a unified income tax rate of 25%. The draft is expected to bring into effect on January 1st, 2008, and has a five-year transition period for enterprises.

The Regulations of Commercial Franchising Management will come into Effect in China on May 1st
 

In February 2007, the State Council publicized the ‘Regulations of Commercial Franchising Management’, which will come into effect on May 1st.It clearly stated that people engaging in franchising activities should have at least three qualifications, and also prescribed the system of information disclosure, the filing system. Currently, the State Council is hurrying the steps to carry out the relevant preparation work.

On behalf of each country’s toy industry, they discussed the general situation of toy import & export and industrial cooperation between Brazil and China based on the last negotiation. Both sides all intend to promote the common industrial development of the two countries, and to push the relevant solution implement as soon as possible.

Toys "R" Us Shanghai Store is Operating Smoothly
 

The business of Toys "R" Us’ Shanghai has been good and smoothly since its opening in Shanghai last November.

It is said that this is its first shop operated in China mainland, occupying more than 2,500 square meters and selling 7000-8000 kinds of toys. Currently, about 50% of the toys sold in the shop are imported toys, some brands from the United Kingdom, Canada, Hong Kong are firstly shown to Chinese mainland customers; meanwhile, Some toys are its own brands. The Chinese toys manufacturers such as Silverlit, Auldey etc, provide about 50% of the toys.

Toys "R" Us has an optimistic view about its future in China and plans to open more branches in China. In consideration that Chinese toy sellers are mainly in the high-end or low-end market, the positioning of Toys "R" Us Shanghai focus on middle-end retail market. In addition, they believe that with the increasingly high-income, toy consumption market in China has great potential.
