More than 1,000 Chinese Toy Manufacturers Applied for ICTI Certifications
  According to the latest news, the progress of Code of Business Practices is going well in China. By Dec. 20th, 2006, 1,023 manufactures applied for ICTI Certifications and 668 factories had obtained the certifications, have an increase of 53% and 221% respectively as compared with July 2006. 80% of manufacturers that hold the certifications are from Guangdong province, others are mostly from Zhejiang, Shandong and Beijing.

Brief Review of China Toy Industry in 2006
  Under the well macroeconomic circumstance and excited export situation, China toy industry has enjoyed stirring constant development in production and export since 2004. According to the customs statistics, the exported toys totaled ï¼?1.962 billion in 2004, ï¼?5.185 billion in 2005, enjoying an increase of 26.94% versus 2004. Exported toys of 2006 were ï¼?7.762 billion, by an increase of 48.49% compared to 2004 and an increase of 14.51% compared to 2005.

In 2006, video games used with a television receiver and other video games were the major category of exported toys. They occupied 28.58% and 17.71% of the total volume respectively. These two categories have experienced a rapid increase in overseas market in the past two years. Plush toys were still a key category to export, accounted for 9.04% in 2006.

Shanghai Toy Expo 2007 will enjoy new halls
 

Shanghai Toy Expo will move into the new halls--Hall E1 and Hall E2 of Shanghai New International Expo Center this year. Compared with the previous halls (Hall W4 and Hall W5) in 2006, the new venue has their special advantages. It is near to the major entrance for visitors and is not far from visitors�registration desk. ALL this advantages will not only help visitors save time but also could provide clearer and more convenience-guiding service to visitors.

Famous Licensing Brand Products will display at Shanghai Toy Expo
 

Recently, LIMA and China Toy Association reached the strategic cooperation agreement on Shanghai Toy Expo. According to the agreement, the two sides will set up the Licensing Brand Products Region in Shanghai Toy Expo 2007. By the cooperation, the famous cartoon figures such as Warner Brothers, BBC, Dick Bruna China, Animation International Ltd., China Shanghai Character License Administrative Co., ltd., Medialink Animtion International Limited will attend Shanghai Toy Expo the first time. The cooperation will bring more business opportunities to exhibitors and visitors.

LIMA, International Licensing Industry Merchandiser's Association, is the biggest international trade association that was found in 1985. As the sole authorized organization, LIMA has 2000 members from 28 different counties and represent for all aspect of licensing Industry.

Chinese Exhibitors Shines in Spielwarenmesse Nuremberg International Toy Fair 2007
  58th Spielwarenmesse Nuremberg International Toy Fair closed on Feb. 6th, 2007. China Toy Pavilion, which organized by China Toy Association, displayed thousands of toys included model, plush toys, plastic toys, electronic toys, wooden toys, electric toys, festival and entertainment articles, etc to visitors from the world. Among these, model is the most popular toy product.

During the 6-day fair, Chinese exhibitors introduced and promoted their products to the visitors from more than 100 countries and regions via the face-to-face communication. In addition, the exhibitors have a better understanding of the buyer’s needs and the suggestions for improvement products. Furthermore, they also discussed and exchanged the information regarding the international toy market consumption trend. At the China pavilion, most of the buyers were very happy and they said that it was really convenient for them to understand Chinese toy products and established business ship with China toy manufactures directly.

Chinese Exhibitors Seeks Business Opportunities in American International Toy Fair 2007
  The Annual American International Toy Fair was hold at Javits Center, New York on February 11th -14th, 2007. China Toy Pavilion, which included nearly 30 Chinese manufactures, attended the fair. The Chinese exhibitors are from Guangdong, Anhui, Jinagsu, Zhejiang, Shandong and so on. They will perfectly display their toys, such as plush toys, electronic toys, plastic toys, wooden toys and festival and entertainment articles etc. Chinese exhibitors will welcome the visitors by various of toy products and best service. In the booths 2963-3084 & 3063-3087, the global buyers could communicate directly with Chinese toy manufactures and choose products.

The United States is the biggest toy consumption market in the world. According to the China Customs statistics 2005, it is the first export destination of Chinese toys and the exports reached more than USD5.7billion. China Toy Association has organized Chinese toy manufactures to attend the fair since 1999 and promotes Chinese toys by various means.

The New National Standard of Toy Directions will be Implemented Soon
 
The new national standard GB5296.5-2006 (Directions for using Consumer Goods: Chapter 5: Toys) will come into official enforcement since June 1st, 2007, which was jointly issued by China General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection & Quarantine and China Standardization Administration. The new standard dictated the basic principle of directions for using toys, format, content, font, etc. The standard will be published recently.

China Custom Tariff Numbers of Toys Changed Since 2007
 

Announced by China General Administration of Customs, almost one third of China custom tariff numbers were adjusted since Jan 1st, 2007 concerning 1888 imported and exported categories. The mostly changed categories include toys, wooden goods, steel and steel goods, games & sport articles and son on. This was the first and biggest adjustment in custom tax rule since China entered into WTO in 2002.

CTA Promotes China Toy Industry on International Fair Platforms
  At the Spielwarenmesse Nuremberg International Toy Fair, China Toy Association made good use of the various platforms such as information desks, bulletin board, China Pavilion, CTA service booth and the information desk of Shanghai Toy Expo to promote Chinese exhibitors. To further promote Chinese toys, China toy industry and Shanghai Toy Expo, CTA also published the “China Toy Industry Newsâ€?and leaflets of Shanghai Toy Expo and distributed in all of the halls.

Because of those leaflets, the visitors have had a preliminary understanding of Chinese exhibitors and their products. On the other hand, lots of buyers also came to the Shanghai Toy Expo information desk to search related information. According to some buyers�request, China Toy Association also provided the Chinese toy company database service on www.toy-cta.com, some buyers have found their partners on this website. In addition, China Toy Association is going to further promote China Pavilion and China toy industry in other coming international fairs.
